The minimum Order size for the S&P 500 Variance futures contract is 1,000 vega notional and all Orders must be in multiples of 1,000 vega notional, except for stub transactions in S&P 500 Variance futures. The sizes of Orders and trades in S&P 500 Variance futures are expressed and displayed in notional equivalent units of 1,000 vega notional. A futures contract is an agreement between a buyer and seller of the contract that some asset--such as a commodity, currency or index--will bought/sold for a specific price, on a specific day, in the future (expiration date).
